“A stunning talent with an original voice… Vivid soundscapes and musical paintings [with] lyrics we can all relate to.”

Sherry Jacoby is a Newmarket, Canada-based singer/songwriter who exercises her passion for telling personal stories through song. She writes indie pop/folk for the romantic heart, combining the influences of Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, and Gabrielle Alpin.

Jacoby’s music story began when her mom taught her piano at a young age. Inspired by her mom’s talent but wanting to march to the beat of her own instrument, she asked for guitar lessons instead. This ignited her passion for writing songs, using imagery and metaphors to paint a picture of her emotional landscape. She went on to release her heartfelt debut EP "My Light” and her anthemic single "Phoenix".

Continuing her story, Jacoby consistently writes and practices her craft while growing a team around her artistry.  Most recently, she released her singles “For the Rest of Time” and “Puzzle”, produced by Nashville-based acclaimed producer Shannon McArthur [Dashboard Confessional].

As Sherry invites her fans into tales of heartbreak and resilience, they are sure to experience the feeling of opening their favourite book each time they press play.

Sherry Jacoby Shares Constellation: An Ode to Everlasting Love

NEWMARKET, CANADA – [AUGUST 15, 2025] – Newmarket-based indie pop/folk artist Sherry Jacoby has released her latest single, “Constellation”, an ode to enduring love and the wonder of the night sky.

Sherry began writing Constellation in 2019 while performing aboard a cross-country VIA Rail journey from Toronto to Vancouver as part of the Artist on Board program. “It was an inspiring time in my life,” she says. “There were breathtaking views on the train, especially as we passed by the Rocky Mountains. I was also at the start of a new relationship, and my intuition knew that it was going to last.”

With lush acoustic arrangements and Jacoby’s ethereal vocals, the track transports listeners to that same feeling of awe and possibility. “During that train ride, I felt so connected to nature, and those feelings were intertwined with the excitement I felt about the potential of an everlasting love,” she explains.

Blending romantic lyricism and indie pop hooks, Constellation draws inspiration from artists such as Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, and Colbie Caillat. The track was produced by Nashville-based Shannon McArthur (Dashboard Confessional), marking their third collaboration. “I bring him my songs as sketches, just vocals and acoustic guitar, and he fills in the outline with the colours the song calls for, like an ethereal electric guitar riff,” says Jacoby.

Now engaged to the person who inspired Constellation, Sherry is especially excited to perform the song at her wedding this October. Since relocating from Toronto to Newmarket, she has been connecting with her new local music community and booking performances throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
